AP ART PORTFOLIO - 12th grade
Below is my AP art portfolio: Thresholds of light
My sustained investigation explores the question, “What is death’s purpose?”. Through my pieces, I grapple with the concept that death's limit on life makes life more valuable. Each moment is a unique fraction of time that will never be replicated, and that is where life’s beauty originates. I chose to experiment with death being grayscale and life being gold to represent the opposing concepts; black is the idea of being without color and absorbing all light. Gold reflects a large portion of light and is colorful, tinting the colors of its reflections with a gold twinge.
Miscellaneous pieces from over the years.
Meet the Artist
Owen Keyt
I'm a 18-year-old high school artist and track athlete. I mainly create work using digital programs such as Procreate. However, I also dabble in charcoal, oil paints, and mixed media works. My favorite classical artists are Rembrandt and Monet. Some contemporary artists who really inspire me are Casey Baugh, WLOP, Liu Xiaodong, and Karla Ortiz.
